PITTSBURGH — The water on Pittsburgh’s famous three rivers is high and fast. Officials are urging boaters to be careful this Memorial Day.

Channel 11's Brandon Hudson learned recent rains are one of the reasons the rivers are considered dangerous.

If you’re planning on getting out on the water Monday, river rescue officers want you to look out for mud and debris, like tree branches.

“Watch your speed. Make sure you’re looking out at all times for large debris. If you hit something like that at speed, it will damage your boat,” Pittsburgh paramedic diver Jeff Vesci said.
