None — PITTSBURGH --Researchers found that some baby formulas contain high amounts of sugar, even though the sugar content isn't listed in the nutrition facts.
An independent lab recently conducted a test on several popular formulas, finding Enfamil Premium and Parent's Choice Premium infant formulas had the highest sugar contents, ranging from 13.5 to 12.4 grams per serving.
Research also found that the sugars, however, were from lactose, which is considered the best type of sugar.
The three formulas that tested low on sugar included Gerber Good Start, Similac Advance Complete and Enfamil Pro-Sobee.
The research found that Similac Advance Organic Complete Nutrition contained 3.5 grams of sucrose sugars per serving and Similac Soy Infant Formula contained four kinds of added sugars.
