PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Riverhounds will host a Pittsburgh Spirit Reunion during their match against Hartford Athletic at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10 at F.N.B. Stadium.
The event marks 40 years since the disbandment of the Pittsburgh Spirit, which was active from 1978 to 1986. The team was one of six founding member clubs of the Major Indoor Soccer League.
Riverhounds players will wear Spirit-inspired warm-up jerseys during pregame activities. Those jerseys, along with Spirit-themed hats, scarves and T-shirts, will be available for purchase during the match.
Former Spirit players expected to attend the reunion events include Paul Child, Dave MacKenzie, Bobby Vosmaer and Joe Luxbacher, along with head coach John Kowalski.
A VIP Welcome Event featuring a catered dinner will take place Oct. 9 at F.N.B. Stadium. Tickets are $55 per person, with registration available online at PittsburghSpirit.com.
