Rivers Casino makes $4.7 million payment to Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — Rivers Casino has made another payment to the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh.

On Thursday, the casino announced that it had made a $4.7 million payment toward the construction expenses of PPG Paints Arena. To date, $132.2 million has been collected.

Per an agreement with the SEA and Allegheny County, Rivers Casino contributes $7.5 million annually to the SEA for the arena’s construction debt financing. Payments are made in installments in October and April of each year. The next payment is slated to come on April 1, 2027.

According to Rivers, by 2038, the casino will have contributed a total of $225 million for the hockey arena’s construction, which was completed in 2010.
