PITTSBURGH,None — A coach who trains speed skaters has been banned from Robert Morris University after allegations of improper behavior surfaced.
RMU officials said students were notified that the unidentified coach is no longer able to go in any of the university’s facilities.
The school has not commented on what the improper allegations were, other than to say they notified police.
The coach was an independent contractor and coached members of the school’s speed skating club team, and other skater at the RMU Island Sports Center.
University president Gregory Dell’omo released a statement saying, “Although the coach is not an employee of the university, we believed the allegations against him warranted the decisive actions we have taken.”
Robert Morris University has also decided to eliminate the speed skating club program.
