Roof collapse in Washington County; one person injured

SMITH TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A porch roof collapse in Smith Township injured a man Saturday.

A Washington County 9-1-1 supervisor said it happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. along Shin Hill Street.

Initial reports indicated the man was working on a house when the porch roof came down.

A medical helicopter was requested to transport the man to a Pittsburgh hospital. The extent of his injuries was not available.

The cause of the collapse will be investigated by Smith Township Police.
