PITTSBURGH — A retaining wall at Olympia Park on Mount Washington collapsed Sunday, causing damage to the bleachers and baseball field nearby.

Guy Costa, chief of operations for the city of Pittsburgh, said that the collapse could be a result of the storms that occurred Saturday.

He said that the damage from the collapse was “quite extensive” but could not yet provide an estimate of cost.

A large section of the wall collapsed on the bleachers, and also caused a light stand to fall on the pitcher’s mound.

The park will be closed until officials find out the cause of the collapse and a way to restore it.

Youth league games scheduled to be held on the field Sunday were canceled.

No one was injured by the collapse.
