SHARPSBURG, Pa. — A Sharpsburg man was indicted by a federal grand jury on child porn charges, United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced Monday.
Drew Michael Kozlowski, 45, has been named as the sole defendant in a three-count indictment charging him with receiving, distributing and possessing material depicting the sexual exploitation of minors.
According to the indictment, Kozlowski received and attempted to receive material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor on or about March 27. The indictment also charges him with distributing and attempting to distribute material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor on or about March 28.
The indictment further alleges that in June, Kozlowski possessed material depicting prepubescent minors or children who had not reached 12 years of age engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
Homeland Security conducted the investigation that resulted in the indictment.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. It’s led by the United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section.
