Gizler was transported to the Allegheny County Jail following his arrest.
He faces additional charges due to information and material on his possession at the time of the arrest, according to officials.
Officer Brian Hoebel said this was one of multiple thefts that occurred in Sharpsburg on the same day.
Police said that based on surveillance video, the suspect broke in to a locked van and stole an EZ Rider mobility scooter valued at more than $3,000. He also stole other items from the van.
Paul and Caroline Krebs, who own the van and scooter, have surveillance cameras that captured video of the crime.
"I've lived here my whole life. We've never had trouble like that here," Paul Krebs said. His wife uses the scooter because she cannot walk very well.
