WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — A small plane went off the runway at the Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin Monday.

Dispatchers tell Channel 11 that police, fire and medics were called to the airport at 3:22 p.m.

Allegheny County Airport Authority officials say only the pilot was aboard. Emergency crews removed her from the plane and took her to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“As you know, safety and security are always the top priority at the Allegheny County Airport Authority and we will work with our government and business partners to determine exactly what caused this incident and how it may be possibly prevented in the future,” said Matt Neistein with the Allegheny County Airport Authority.
