State police looking for ‘career criminals' caught on camera

GREENSBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania state police are working to track down two women they’re calling “career criminals” caught on camera robbing a store.

Pennsylvania state police Trooper Steve Limani told Channel 11's Joe Holden that the women and a man operate a scheme where they steal money from cash registers.

Limani said one instance at an Aldi’s in Hempfield Township was captured on tape.

The surveillance video allegedly shows the women arguing and confusing the cashier while taking money from the drawer.

“They actually survey and look at the cashiers, and try to target the least-experienced one,” Limani said.

According to Limani, the man acts as a lookout.

“They’re going to give him a $20, but say they gave him a $50 or a $100,” Limani said. “Then they’re going to try and get into the drawer. They need to get their hands on the money.”

No arrests have been made and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.

“This is what you call a career criminal. They’re going to go from location to location. They run the same scam everywhere they go,” Limani said.
