Pittsburgh Steelers’ first-round pick offensive tackle Max Iheanachor revealed after Monday’s practice that he plans on playing in the preseason finale against the Buffalo Bills.
“I wanted to play since the first preseason, but obviously missing practices and stuff. Couldn’t get out there with the guys. So I mean, that’s the plan to play this last one,” Iheanachor said.
Iheanachor has been out since Aug. 6, when he suffered an apparent neck or shoulder injury during the team’s training camp practice at St. Vincent College. Iheanachor left the Steelers’ practice after the first full-speed team period. He walked to the sideline, where head athletic trainer Gabe Amponsah appeared to be working on his neck and right shoulder area. Iheanachor then had a conversation with Dr. Aaron Mares, one of the team’s physicians, and left the practice field, walking up the hill.
