PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson returned to practice Friday for the first time since suffering severe burns in a January house fire.

Wilson was working with the running backs during Friday’s rookie minicamp.

“I told him, ‘God bless you that you’re still here and I’m praying for you,’” Steelers rookie running back Chris Rainey said. “He’s glad to be back and he’s just ready to work and I’m right with him.”

Only rookies and first-year players practiced Friday on the South Side.

Assistant coaches will not be available to the media until OTAs begin later this month.
