AMBRIDGE, Pa. — Police have identified a suspect in a pair of knife attacks and a robbery in Ambridge last week.

Ambridge Police Chief James Mann announced Sunday that Rodney Michael, 28, was arrested in connection with two knife attacks Wednesday night and an armed robbery Friday.

The knife attacks happened along Merchant Street.

According to police, one victim was threatened by Michael with a hunting knife, which he put to the victim's throat while demanding money. The victim managed to push Michael and run from the parking lot where the attack happened.

The second attack happened about two hours after the first attack.

A 60-year-old man was stabbed three times by Michael at a bus stop, police said. The man's injuries included deep cuts to his arm.

On Friday morning, police were called after two people were robbed at gunpoint during a drug deal near Michael's grandmother's house, where he lives.

Michael's grandmother allowed police to search her house.

"While they were in the residence, they called the cellphone of the victim that was just robbed. They located the cellphone underneath a washing machine in the basement along with a BB gun, money, pills and a whole bunch of knives they recovered," said Mann.

Michael, who is on parole for shooting a 14-year-old girl in the face in 2007, was arrested, and is facing additional charges for the knife attacks and robbery, including robbery, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
