Man in custody following large police, fire response at Pittsburgh home

PITTSBURGH — A man is in custody following a large police and fire response at a home in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood.

Police, firefighters and medics were called to the 1200 block of Pineridge Street around 9:30 a.m.

Police said the man set a small fire inside the house, and was throwing glass at officers at some point.

He was allegedly threatening to harm police officers and himself.

Our crews on scene saw the man being taken into custody. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition and will then be taken to the Allegheny County Jail after being discharged.

The man has not yet been identified.
