PITTSBURGH — Police said a man involved in a domestic dispute early Tuesday morning prompted a SWAT situation in Marshall-Shadeland.

Investigators said the incident began with a domestic call between Andre Johnson and his girlfriend at a home on Brighton Road.

Police said the girlfriend told them that Johnson had threatened her with a gun and fled. Officers said they then followed him to the couple's home on Shadeland Avenue.

"They did everything they could to get him to come out and just get this settled but he insisted on waiting until the windows were broken and gas was thrown into the house," said Pittsburgh police Cmdr. Kathy Degler.

Officers said Johnson refused to come out and a SWAT team was called in.

Police said they are still looking for the gun Johnson was said to have pointed as his girlfriend.
