POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Target 11 Investigator Rick Earle was the first reporter to go into the Pompano Beach, Fla., home where Ken Konias Jr. was arrested Monday night.

A woman who said she rented a room to Konias let Earle inside.

The woman said Konias rented a small bedroom, about 10 feet wide and 10 feet long.  Earle reported that there was a bed and a dresser in the room, along with a trash can full of trash and an ashtray full of cigarettes.

The woman who rented the room said Konias came to her door a couple of weeks ago. He said he was just passing through, and that he needed a place to stay before he headed off to Jamaica. She said Konias was a nice guy.  As for how Konias found this place to stay, it was apparently through a friend of Konias' girlfriend.
