SOUTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A crash involving an ATV and an SUV in Westmoreland County left two teens injured Tuesday night.
Pennsylvania State Police say a Honda TRX250 was traveling south on the side of Mt. Pleasant Road when the driver turned left into the path of a KIA SUV, which was traveling in the same direction. Police say this caused the crash at 8:30 p.m.
A 16-year-old boy who was riding as a passenger on the ATV was flown to UPMC Children’s Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
The driver of the ATV, another 16-year-old boy, was taken to Forbes Regional Hospital in an ambulance with suspected minor injuries.
Troopers said they are charging the driver for violating a law restricting ATVs to be driven on public streets and highways.
The driver of the SUV was unharmed.
