PITTSBURGH — A teen boy was shot in the chest in East Liberty Saturday evening, according to Pittsburgh police.

The boy was hospitalized in critical condition and "responding well" after surgery, Sgt. Lavonnie Bickerstaff said. He was shot around 7:30 p.m. behind the handball court near the old police headquarters in Penn Circle, she said.
