PITTSBURGH — More than 100 residents, many of whom are elderly, disabled or veterans, say they’re being forced out of their East Liberty apartment complex with no explanation.
Penn Plaza Apartments holds 318 units, many of which have been occupied by the same residents for nearly a decade. However, those residents told Channel 11 News Friday they’ve been given notice to vacate the premises within the next 90 days.

“I’m in for a good fight,” tenant Gail Williams said.
Williams said she’s not leaving her home of eight years without a fight.
“They’re going to have to blow me out, move me out. I think it’s so wrong of them,” she said.
Gail said she and the hundred-plus others who live at the complex have been given eviction notices without any reason why.
“We have elderly (residents), veterans. It’s not been properly announced,” tenant Maynard Palmer said.
Penn Plaza residents said they plan to meet with the mayor and a council member Saturday morning to discuss the fate of the complex.
