Officials told 11 News they thought the elevator issues were resolved last week, but residents said on Sunday they currently only have one working elevator, and even that one is starting to malfunction.
11 News first covered this issue one week ago, when residents of Wood Towers were dealing with no working elevators.
Residents say the building is filled with people who are elderly or have disabilities and many of them can’t use the stairs.
Just days after the story aired, the Allegheny County District Attorney’s office reached out to us saying they had reached out to Wilkinsburg officials to make sure the issues were addressed.
Residents say that’s not the case.
Right now, they say they’re back to only one working elevator, and it could go at any moment.
“The manager, she just started, so you can’t put it on her,” said resident Ruth Wooding. “She’s trying her best. But there’s lives, people in chairs that can’t come down, people disabled.”
