Tires slashed on Halloween night in Edgewood, Wilkinsburg

PITTSBURGH,None — Residents of Edgewood and Wilkinsburg said they're upset after some Halloween night tricks left them with slashed tires.

Channel 11's Vince Sims reported that more than 30 cars were targeted. The victims said they woke up Tuesday morning and found the damage.

"It made me mad," said Patricia Gardone.

Edgewood police said the damage follows a walking path that starts on Greendale Avenue to Race Street, goes left up to Pennwood Avenue to Whitney Avenue and ends on Center Street in Wilkinsburg.

Investigators said the tire slashing happened between 8 and 10:30 p.m. So far, no suspects have been identified.

A neighborhood watch member in Wilkinsburg said a similar incident happened two years ago on Halloween and the watch plans on organizing a program to keep an eye out on Halloween night next year.
