A tractor trailer rollover has shut down the northbound lanes of a major highway in Butler County.
PennDOT’s 511 Map confirms a crash on northbound I-79 between Exit 78 (PA 228 - Cranberry/Mars) and Exit 83 (PA 528 - Evans City).
All northbound lanes are closed. Drivers are asked to use caution in the area and on any detours.
PennDOT officials couldn’t immediately say when the northbound lanes may reopen.
The 511 map shows traffic backups stretching for miles. There’s also congested conditions on Route 19 and 228.
