Trial opens in 2011 'Sweet 16' party slaying

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Trial has begun for a McKeesport man accused of having opened fire at a "Sweet 16" birthday party that he crashed two years ago, killing one person and injuring seven others.

According to Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE, a witness testified Monday in Allegheny County court that 27-year-old Quentin Ingram pulled an automatic weapon from his waistband and fired into a crowd of 30 to 40 people in December 2011.

Drew Henderson-Bracey, 18, was pronounced dead at the apartment near Pittsburgh.

Defense attorney Christy Foreman asked jurors to "keep an open mind and listen to all the evidence, or lack thereof."

Ingram is charged with homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and a firearms crime.
