Two Trees Global to keep hotel use of former Monroeville Doubletree

MONROEVILLE, Pa. — To hear Jon Ward tell it, the motivation that led to the membership interests of Grace Life Church to buy the closed Doubletree by Hilton Pittsburgh Monroeville Convention Center originates with the founding of the Monroeville religious institution itself, recalling the time 20 years ago when the church’s first service was held in what was then a Radisson hotel property.

“That’s where we started as a church,” said Ward, recalling Grace Life’s full circle from then to now as Two Trees Global LLC, with membership ties to the church, came to buy the vacated hotel to make it the location for Grace Life’s Sunday services.

Yet Ward, who serves as operations manager for Two Trees along with being a member of Grace Life, emphasized that the plan doesn’t stop there to just have what had been a rare suburban full-service hotel, with banquet and event space along with its 191 guest rooms, to just operate by and for only the church itself.
