PITTSBURGH — Authorities in Point Breeze are looking for the person or persons responsible for several recent acts of vandalism, including two incidents at a church.

According to police, the Church of God in Point Breeze has been vandalized twice in the past month.

“Threats started a few months ago with a first letter, followed up with a second letter threatening to vandalize the building if we didn’t do something about the curb,” Minister Perrico Robinson said.

Robinson told Channel 11’s Timyka Artist that members of the church arrived for Sunday morning services to find graffiti on the windows.

“It was kind of devastating for them, especially after the one a few weeks ago,” Robinson said. “It said, ‘Fix the curb, or else.’”

Neighbor Bill Williams said he was surprised to hear the culprits had struck again, apparently upset over the conditions of the curbs along Fifth Avenue.

“Why anyone would complain and complain to begin with in such a silly way is out of proportion,” Williams said.

Police on Monday said similar spray paint was reported on an apartment building near Shady Avenue.

The owner said she received an anonymous phone call from someone demanding that she fix the curb out front, or else.

Robinson said he plans to install surveillance cameras this week.

Anyone with information on the acts of vandalism is asked to contact police.
