SLICKVILLE, Pa. — A family in Westmoreland County tells Channel 11 they need help after a car crashed through their home.
They say they likely have to rebuild.
“It’s done,” Henry Dunn said of his house while showing Channel 11 the damage left behind.
“That’s my 10-year-old’s bed, and now it’s destroyed. He loved that bed.”
He says he and his family weren’t home at the time, but he rushed back after getting a phone call.
He says the car had been speeding around a bend when it struck a rock pile and went airborne. It hit two cars and kept going.
“As far as I know, the cops said he was well over 100 [mph],” he said. “[It flew] over top of the carport. He landed. There’s actually a mark where he landed and flew into the house.”
The crash destroyed his kids’ bedrooms.
“He lost just about everything when the accident happened. We’re trying to rebuild from nothing,” Dunn’s wife Sakeyna said.
The family had no insurance on the house. They’ve started a fundraising campaign to help with rebuilding and repairs.
