Video of incident between Dickson Preparatory STEAM Academy students circulating on social media

A video of an incident between two Dickson Preparatory STEAM Academy students on Tuesday is circulating on social media.

In the video, there is what appears to be a verbal disagreement between students before a male student begins punching a female student.

The acting superintendent of the Woodland Hills School District sent out this message to families:

The Woodland Hills School District is aware of an incident between students that took place at Dickson Preparatory STEAM Academy on Tuesday, May 10.

We are extremely disappointed and disheartened with this horrible incident. The Woodland Hills School District administration and the Board of School Directors are both committed to aggressively disciplining everyone involved and in supporting all students who were impacted.

Families with questions or concerns should reach out to district administration, Dickson administration, or school guidance counselors for assistance. Thank you for your commitment to the Woodland Hills School District as we continue to ensure that the safety and security of our scholars and staff is our top priority.

There is no word on any pending charges at this time.
