UNIONTOWN, Pa. — A video of two seventh graders at Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Uniontown is circulating on social media.
In the video, you can see a boy hit another boy in the head with a stool during art class.
Now, the mother of the boy who was hit wants answers.
“It could have been a traumatic brain injury, anything,” said Elizabeth Osburn. “I’m just thankful he’s still here.”
Osburn said she got a call from the school explaining her son had been hit in the head. It wasn’t until the next day that she saw the video and realized the full extent of what had happened to her son.
“The boy that did told everyone he was going to do it, so they knew he was going to do it, and that’s why they were recording when it happened. He planned to do it and he told everyone,” said Osburn.
She said the two boys were messing with pens in art class when the situation escalated. Now she’s looking to press charges and has made a report to Uniontown Police.
Her son was taken to the hospital shortly after and has a bruise on his skull.
“I really don’t want to go back to school because of what happened,” said Osburn’s son.
The school released a statement saying:
“The Uniontown Area School District is aware of an incident that occurred on January 7th, 2026, between 2 students. This incident is being investigated by the Uniontown Area School District Police Department at this time. The Uniontown Area School District will not comment on any disciplinary actions at this time due to the ongoing police investigation.”
Osburn said her son was given one day of in-school suspension, but she doesn’t know if the other boy was punished.
