PITTSBURGH — Visitation services were held Thursday for the 2-year-old boy who was mauled by African painted dogs at the Pittsburgh Zoo on Sunday.

The viewing for Maddox Derkosh was held from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at William Slater Funeral Service on Greentree Road in Scott Township.

Funeral services are set for Friday at Saint Bernard Church. Derkosh's family asks that everyone attending the service brings a toy truck to be donated to a children's Christmas charity.

Derkosh was killed by the dogs after he fell into the exhibit.

The trucks, which his family said Maddox loved, began piling up Thursday in advance of the funeral.
