W. Pa. football teams to wear replica uniforms from 1983 Tom Cruise movie

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Two western Pennsylvania high school football teams that portrayed rivals in the 1983 Tom Cruise Movie "All The Right Moves" will play in replica uniforms when they meet Friday night at the local stadium where the movie was filmed.

Johnstown players will wear the black-and-gold uniforms of Ampipe, Cruise's team when portraying a young man hoping to escape a grim mill town.

Johnstown's rival, Westmont Hilltop, will wear the red-and-white uniforms of Walnut Heights. Like Walnut Heights was to Ampipe, Westmont is the more affluent rival to Johnstown.

Johnstown coach Tony Penna Jr. said Friday’s game will be at Point Stadium.

"A lot of these kids are trying to not necessarily find a way out of Johnstown, but they're trying to find a way into college football,” Penna said.
