North Shore-based rail conglomerate Wabtec Corp. has expanded a deal to modernize locomotives for an Atlanta firm.
Wabtec (NYSE: WAB) has inked multiple deals over the years with Norfolk Southern Corp. (NYSE: NSC) to modernize its railcars, replacing existing direct current electric motors to alternating current electric motors.
Now, the two announced a new deal to convert and modernize 33 more DC-traction Evolution Series locomotives. Since 2015, their combined efforts have contributed to over 1,000 locomotive conversions.
