Water main break damages homes in Castle Shannon

CASTLE SHANNON, Pa. — A water main break in Castle Shannon sent water shooting into the air on Monday.

The break happened along Blossom Hill Road, causing damage to several homes.

A total of 40 people were without water while Pennsylvania American Water crews worked to repair the 8-inch line.

A least eight homes suffered water damage before crews were able to stop the geyser at about 10 p.m.

“It basically eroded out ruts in their driveway, flooded out sections,” said neighbor Rob Broman. “It got so bad it seeped into the ground and got into parts of our basement."
