CRAFTON, Pa. — A water main break caused a huge mess in Crafton early Wednesday morning and left a large sinkhole in a neighborhood roadway.
Channel 11 News was there when the break caused water to shoot about 20 feet in the air on Willard Avenue.
"It was just sky high. I couldn't see the top of it," said neighbor George Miller.
The pressure from the water sent rocks flying in the air causing damage to nearby homes and cars.
"Busted the windshield on here, the back window, cracked the windshield, dented my other car, dented my motorcycle, dented my door and my siding and my basement is all flooded out," said Erin Canton.
Pennsylvania American Water officials said crews installed new water lines at the intersection on Tuesday, however the line that broke was old.
About 30 customers were left without water service. Officials said service should be turned back on my Wednesday afternoon.
Crews are working to repair the roadway.
