ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police are still investigating the mysterious case of a missing Ross Township woman on the one-year anniversary of her disappearance.

Jamie Nichole Peterson was last seen on the morning of Sept. 26, 2011, at her home on North Fremont Avenue.

According to investigators, Peterson was discovered missing when her children returned home from school. Her car was still at the home, but she was not.

She is a 0-year-old white female, 5 feet 3 inches tall with a stocky build. She has houlder-length brown hair with blond streaks and green eyes. She wears black glasses with pink speckles on them. Also, she has multiple tattoos, including a butterfly tattoo on her neck, a purple bear on her left arm, a cross on her left shoulder, a daisy on her right shoulder, and a purple rose on her right breast.

“It’s hard. There are days that I get up and I pace. I don’t know what to do with myself,” Jamie’s father, Jim Peterson, said. “The wheels of justice are moving slower than I anticipated up to this point.”

“Unless someone is holding her against her will, that’s the only chance I have that she might still be breathing today,” Peterson said. “Other than that, I’m only out to seek closure so I can lay her to rest.”

“I believe anything is possible at this point,” Ross Township Police Det. Brian Kolhepp said. “There have been a couple of people we’ve looked at for a couple of different situations. We’re still investigating.”

The Ross Police continue to investigate this case and have been assisted in the investigation in numerous ways by the Pittsburgh Police Department Homicide Division and the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office.

“We’d like to remind the public about disappearance of Jamie Peterson in hopes of soliciting new information. People may have seen something back then and decide to call us now with that information,” Kolhepp said.

Anyone with information about her disappearance is asked to contact the Ross Police Department Detective Division at 412-931-9070.
