Westmoreland Co. jail clerk suspended after wrong inmate released

None — WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. -- A Westmoreland County jail clerk is accused of releasing the wrong inmate.

According to Channel 11 News exchange partners at TribLIVE, the clerk has been suspended without pay.

Jail officials said this was the second time the clerk has released the wrong person. Officials said the first incident happened in 2005 and then again in December.

The jail's warden said human error and missing paperwork is to blame.
