LIGONIER, Pa. — A Westmoreland County man is facing charges after an investigation into alleged inappropriate contact with children.
Terry Barr, 80, of Ligonier, is charged with child pornography and possession of child sexual abuse material, according to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office.
Investigators spoke with a victim who said that, when he was 12, he and his friend would do work at Barr’s home in exchange for money, the DA’s office says.
The victim claimed Barr offered to pay them more if they wanted to “play.” Barr would allegedly take photos of the boys posing naked, the DA’s office says.
This went on for a while until Barr eventually lost interest, the victim claimed. However, Barr allegedly tried to have them find new children for him.
Ligonier Valley police executed a search warrant at Barr’s home this month. There, they found electronic devices with child pornography, including photos of the victim who made the allegations, the DA’s office says.
Barr claimed he never took photos of any boys. He reportedly told police that everything was downloaded from the internet, and all of the people were over the age of 18.
Barr was arrested and denied bail.
