CORAOPOLIS, Pa. — A woman died after she and her husband were injured when an oxygen tank exploded, igniting a fire late Sunday inside a Coraopolis home.
The explosion happened just before 10 p.m. Sunday at the home on Fourth Avenue, leaving both the man and woman with burns.

Fire officials said the woman was smoking in a second-floor bedroom when the tank exploded.
Karen Tomko was severely burned and was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where she died early Monday, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Wednesday. She suffered burns on 80 percent of her body.
Tomko's husband burned his hands while trying to help her.
