WILKINSBURG, Pa. — A Wilkinsburg man faces kidnapping charges after police say he lured a woman from a Homewood bar on Wednesday.
According to court documents, 58-year-old Kevin King saw the victim standing outside of the bar and asked if she needed a ride. She stated she did and figured King was a jitney driver.
While driving, King said he needed to make a quick stop at his mother’s home in the Lincoln-Lemington area. There, he ran inside and came back out after 15 to 20 minutes. He then told the victim he needed to stop at his home on West Street in Wilkinsburg.
Once at King’s home, he told the victim to come inside. When she agreed, he locked the door and began threatening her.
The victim tells police she was able to escape the home after several hours and run to Biddle Ave nearby, where someone called 911.
According to police, they are familiar with King, stating he has a history of luring vulnerable woman from bars under the guise of giving them a ride. Police say King is known to hold these women against their will and physically and sexually assault them.
Channel 11 learned back in 2021 that King was charged with terroristic threats and simple assault and criminal attempt. Later, those charges were dismissed.
King is now in the Allegheny County Jail and faces a handful of new charges including kidnapping, simple assault and false imprisonment.
