PITTSBURGH — A fast-moving system is expected to produce snow in some parts of the Channel 11 viewing area overnight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for counties south of Pittsburgh.

According to Severe Weather Team 11 Meteorologist Kevin Benson, most of the snow will fall early Tuesday morning.

Benson said he expects about 2-4 inches to accumulate in the advisory area, and about 1-2 inches of accumulation in the rest of the area. Areas north of Pittsburgh should see less snow.

“There will be snow during the morning rush hour with about an inch by 8 a.m. and up to another inch by noon, with possibly more south and east of Pittsburgh,” Benson said.

With the possibility of snow during the morning commute, officials are warning drivers to be cautious because road conditions could be slippery.
