Arrest records show that Jill Lender, a former office manager at KVET Animal Care in Hempfield Township, stole a total of $269,000.
Detectives said that in November, it was discovered that something was wrong with the clinic's books.
An audit conducted and completed in February revealed that deposits weren't made to the bank - at one point - for 13 months straight.
"We are just a young and growing practice and to discover this was really upsetting. But we are moving on and still continuing to grow," a veterinarian at KVETS Animal Care told Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE.
Meanwhile, Lender is also accused of trying to cover up the alleged theft.
Police said software at the clinic showed when changes were made to files and appointments, exposing the extent of the alleged theft.
Lender is due in court in next week.
