VERONA, Pa. — Verona police have arrested a 38-year-old woman after investigators said she threatened a 5-year-old boy with pieces of glass. Police say Kristel Folcik has threatened to kill his family before.

Surveillance doorbell video shows Folcik approach Cameron Neidermeyer while he was riding his bike along Ridge Avenue, where he lives.

“She noticed that we weren’t around him at the time, so she figured that was her opportunity to come out,” said Sara Neidermeyer, Cameron’s mom. “She had glass in her hand, a glass bottle, and came over, got down on her knees.”

Verona police say Folcik lives across the street from the Neidermeyer family. They told Channel 11 they’ve been called to Folcik’s house dozens of times, even earlier in the day, Saturday prior to the threat against the child.

“Her dog got loose and attacked a nearby neighbor, and as a result of that, charges were filed against her,” said Chief Thomas Dessell of the Verona Police Department.

On Saturday, police took Folcik into custody, arresting her on several charges, including terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct.

“Thank God that the police went above and beyond and responded to the scene and took her down,” said Joseph Neidermeyer, Cameron’s father.

Channel 11 went through police paperwork and found out that Folcik was arrested less than a month ago, accused of stealing handguns and cash from a former roommate. She also faces charges for allegedly threatening to kill the Neidermeyer family.

Dessell said the judge felt Folcik is a danger to the community and denied her bail. She remains at the Allegheny County Jail.
