HOMEWOOD, Pa. — A woman is facing attempted homicide charges after police said she tried to run down her ex-husband with her car in Homewood Thursday night.

According to police, officers were dispatched to a home on Kelly Street just before 10 p.m. Thursday when a man said his ex-wife tried to run him over with her car.

The alleged victim told responding officers that his ex-wife, later identified as 37-year-old Chastity Everett, crashed into several wooden poles and metal cable while trying to run him over.

Police said the man told them the incident started when he and Everett got into an argument at Galaxie Bar.

The alleged victim told police he left the bar to remove himself from the argument and as he was walking on the sidewalk, he heard a car accelerating behind him.

The 54-year-old man said he wasn’t hit, but he was “genuinely terrified.” He said Everett eventually left the scene after several unsuccessful attempts.

Investigators said a witness working in a business near the scene reported that he saw the alleged victim running and being chased by a maroon car dragging wooden poles and cable.

A second witness told detectives a similar story, police said.

Everett was eventually caught when police said she drove to North Braddock Avenue and parked. A security guard noticed the poles in her car and called 911.

Authorities said Everett is facing attempted homicide, aggravated assault and driving without a license charges.
