PITTSBURGH — Police are searching for two suspects after a woman was beaten and robbed in broad daylight in Downtown Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
At around 6 p.m., emergency crews were called to Gateway Center at Stanwix Street and Liberty Avenue.
When they arrived, they found a woman who said two women assaulted her and took her phone. Police said she had a laceration on her forehead.
According to public safety officials, the victim was conscious, alert and speaking with officers and medics. She was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition.
The two suspects ran away and were last reported to be running down Liberty Avenue toward Sixth Street.
Pittsburgh Police detectives continue to investigate.
