PITTSBURGH — A woman contact Channel 11 News for help Thursday about ongoing concerns involving mold that she said is growing inside her Arlington Heights apartment.
"I’m worried about our living situation and our health,” Shonquia Hockett said. “Having children living in there, and they can't even go in their room and sleep."

Hockett said she moved to the Arlington Heights complex two years ago. She said she and her neighbors began to notice mold forming last year, and it hasn’t stopped.
"It's a sour smell, so it's backed up. When it's raining, it gets worse,” she said.
The Allegheny County Health Department confirmed that they have received a complaint about mold at the complex.
A spokeswoman for the department said in an email that they sent a pre-inspection notice to the housing authority, asking them to correct the problem. She said the department will follow-up with an inspection in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Hockett and her neighbors said they don’t want to move out but want the mold issue resolved for good.
Hockett said so far her one neighbor has thrown out at least seven bags of items, including clothes, furniture and toys, because of the mold.
"We're putting money into it. I understand they're trying to help and do their best. I know they're trying to do their part, but we're putting money into it and throwing money out,” she said.
