PITTSBURGH — An Overbrook woman had quite a scare Thursday morning as she tried to save a kitten running through traffic in the Liberty Tunnels.
Mary Trapolsi said she saw the kitten, which she estimates to be between 4 to 6 months old, running back and forth through the tunnels.
Trapolsi said she slammed on her brakes, hopped out of her car and stopped traffic while she attempted rescued the feline.
Trapolsi said some drivers weren't happy with the holdup, but one man did stop and grabbed the kitten. Trapolsi said the man handed the kitten over to her and she instantly fell in love.
She said she plans on taking the kitten to a veterinarian for a checkup and will try to find it a good home.
But if she can't find someone else to take it, Trapolsi said she'll keep it and make it part of her family.
