SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A woman was stabbed in Shaler Township on New Year’s Day.
Allegheny County Police said officers were called to the 200 block of Hugel Drive at 2:18 p.m.
A woman who had been stabbed multiple times was found at the scene. She was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
Investigators said the stabbing was the result of a fight that was happening between the victim and another woman outside of an apartment building.
Detectives said they detained the other woman who was involved in the fight. She has been identified as Shannon Marie Jennings, 38, of Shaler.
Jennings is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.
Channel 11 has obtained court documents showing what allegedly led up to the stabbing.
The victim told police Jennings had made disparaging posts about her on social media, records say. In private messages, Jennings allegedly threatened to come to the victim’s home to “shoot it up.”
The victim told Jennings she would come to her home, and Jennings reportedly sent the victim her address, records say.
When the victim arrived at the apartment, she and Jennings reportedly began to fight, and Jennings ultimately stabbed the victim.
Jennings claimed the other woman broke down her apartment door and assaulted her inside her apartment before the stabbing.
