A Greene County man is facing charges after police said he had sex with a 15-year-old girl he met online.
Charles Kerr II, 37, of Carmichaels, was arrested Oct. 26 and charged in connection with the relationship, which police say began in February.
According to Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE, the girl told police that she talked with Kerr on the Kik cell phone app.
Police paperwork obtained by TribLIVE said the two went hiking at Boyce Park in Allegheny County and to a restaurant in Washington County before returning to Kerr's house.
The girl told police that Kerr lied about his age, and told her he was 26 years old. She also told police that Kerr knew she was 15, and that he “didn’t care about her age.”
Police said they found Kerr's cell phone number on the girl's phone.
Kerr faces charges of unlawful contact with a minor, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, interference with the custody of a child, corruption of minors, criminal use of communication facility and indecent assault.
A preliminary hearing is currently scheduled for November 16
