Man Cleared Of Bank Heist During Steelers' 2009 Victory Parade

PITTSBURGH,None — A man accused of robbing a downtown bank while clad in Pittsburgh Steelers gear as hundreds of thousands of people celebrated in the streets at the 2009 Super Bowl parade was found not guilty Thursday.

Kevin Muschick had been accused of robbing the Huntingdon Bank on Jan. 3, the same day as the Steelers victory parade.

Shortly after the robbery happened, Muschick voluntarily went to the police station, saying that he wanted to clear his name after getting calls from friends who thought they saw his picture in an earlier television news report about the robbery.

At the time, Muschick told police, "I know the robber looks like me, but it is not."

Police said they later determined Muschick was the bank robber and arrested him. Police did not say what additional information or evidence, if any, led to the arrest.

On Thursday, an Allegheny County judge acquitted Muschick in a nonjury trial and told him that his record will be expunged.
