Man Found Guilty Of Raping, Trying To Kill Robert Morris Student

PITTSBURGH,None — A Pittsburgh-area man faces decades in prison after pleading guilty to repeatedly raping then trying to kill a Robert Morris University student in an off-campus town house in Moon Township.

Damiola Adewale, 23, will be sentenced Sept. 8 for his guilty plea Wednesday in the incident on June 18, 2009.

Adewale, who was also a Robert Morris student at the time, allegedly choked the woman with a computer cable and his hands until she lost consciousness.

Moon Township police said Adewale confessed to raping the woman and wrote of planning the attack in a notebook.

"While the woman was getting dressed, he stated that he had been planning this assault for over a week, and he kept a journal detailing this," according to the criminal complaint.

Police said Adewale also threatened the woman with knives, asking her to pick which one he would use to kill her.

According to the criminal complaint, Adewale told her he would consider letting her live if she would sacrifice one of her body parts. She told Adewale he could take her toe, the complaint said. That's when he covered her head with a sheet and told her he was taking a toe, but did not remove any body parts, according to the complaint.

Adewale's attorney said he told a judge he deserved punishment.
